Bio Security on Johnson Family Farmstead
Biosecurity on our farm is essential for preventing the introduction and spread of diseases among our goat herd.
1. **Access Control**: We limit access to the farm. We don’t allow buyers to come visit goats before purchase.
2. **Sanitation**: We implement strict sanitation procedures for equipment.
3. **Animal Health Monitoring**: Regularly monitor the health of animals for any signs of illness. Establish a routine for vaccinations and health checks.
4. **Quarantine Procedures**: New animals are quarantined before being introduced to the herd.
5. **Blood Test are done for Johne’s, CL, CAE, and Q Fever. Results will be posted below.
6. ** Our goats travel to shows** we take extreme measures to keep them safe at shows. We shade our pens for no nose to nose contact. We sanitize pens before goats enter or pen at our trailer. We sanitizer goat feet before returning home. We wear different shoes at shows.
